Daily Paper Prompt #14: Pocket
Tue, August 14, 2012 at 07:00AM
part of an envelope, stitched on 3 sides to an index card, with collaged papers, fabric, a word charm {see instructions}, a little watercolor

part of an envelope decorated with striped washi tape, attached to an index card with heart washi tape, watercolored
Add a pocket to an index card, journal cover, or art journal page. You can stitch 3 sides of a piece of cardstock or fabric to an index card or inside journal cover to create a pocket. Another idea is to cut the side of a legal sized envelope and then tape or stitch 3 sides to a page. Add some interesting doodles or color on the top or around the pocket or even a hint of what is inside.

Great prompt. I'm looking forward to adding a pocket to a page.
the second card is too cute!
I made a paper pocket from my journal fodder! Love when I can do that!
One things that is wonderful about Tammy's prompts is they make you think & once the mind gets going, you never know how the dots will be connected! I love how that happened for me with the pocket prompt.
So here are doodles on brown paper bags I bought some apples in, they are ready made pockets, if rather large - I'm now wondering if they would stand a row of stitching on them to divide them into smaller pockets for an art journal or scrapbook - something to try out tomorrow.
