Daily Paper Prompt #46: Texture Collage

The DPP is to grab a stack of catalogs and magazines, a pair of scissors, mod podge -or- glue stick -or- matte medium and neocolor wax crayons -or- colored pencils -or- oil pastels -or- charcoal -or- black sharpie.
Go on a treasure hunt inside the catalogs and magazines looking for TEXTURES.
These are snippets of images that exude texture and feeling. Things you want to touch. Textures like bamboo, grass, deep cushions, chocolate candy, wool, cotton, wheat, leaves, stitched fabrics, blue jeans, metal, rust, weathered doors, shiny ribbons.
Cut out squares or rectangles and glue one to the page, then the next, then the next, building outward to make a grid. You can have the images touch or leave a small margin. If you wind up with an odd shape remaining on the page, just sneak in an odd rectangle of something.
Make messy scribbles, edges or doodles around each block with crayons/pencils/pastels/markers. The top two photos are pre-edging and the bottom photo is the finished page. This could be an art journal page or a background to some words or found poetry {you can always add more collage, words around the edges, or a splash of paint}.

mines up and I raised with picture too :) adding an extra dimension to my page
I don't have anywhere to link a photo of my texture work to but it was my very first completed prompt but it was the first one I've done and was an enormous amount of fun! Trying to line up all the little squares pushed the perfectionist right out of me. Thanks !
Faith, you can upload to flickr and then add a link in the comments here, join the flickr group for Daisy Yellow {http://www.flickr.com/groups/daisyyellow} or join the Daisy Yellow Facebook group {https://www.facebook.com/groups/daisyyellow} and upload there.
