    Daily Paper Prompt #7: Leftovers

Today's prompt is to use the leftover paint from an art journal page or painting to create abstract art, or photograph the leftovers or the paper that protects your table while you work.

watercolor and gouache on the watercolor paper that protects my table

This is a 3x5" index card with diluted heavy body acrylics that had dripped down a canvas, onto a plastic dropcloth, and then pressed onto the index card. The watery painty drips created a translucent effect.

You can grab the drips of another project, press your paper onto a wet journal page, clean your brush or brayer on a new page and use that for journal fodder on a future page. It's a never-ending circle of paint!

I used left over bits of newspaper, envelopes, and subscription cards from magazines :) I'm really pleased with it! Thank you again :) http://stitchnmaille.wordpress.com/2012/08/07/daisy-yellows-dpp-7-and-the-beginning-of-my-wallpaper-journal/

I love to do this too ! It satisfies my hate-to-waste-colors needs and also magics together mixes I'd never normally go with. Great post :)

mine is mists rather than paint, but YES! i do this all the time and i'm psyched to hear that other ppl do it, too!

(sometimes i actually find the blotting up or the stencil-wiping page comes out MORE INTERESTINGLY than the thing i actually set out to make does! chalk another one up for serendipity, eh?!) ♥

I am giving the Flickr thing a go. I think I have it organised right and linked each of the 2, #6 and #7 I have just uploaded. It's funny, I sort of forgot all about Flickr the past 6 months, mayBE even longer ?! but it sure is fun to get back to it and actually feel like I understand a thing or two!!

I love doing this! I usually just use computer paper to slop up my extra paint. So this ICAD I used some of that paper to do it! So fun! I linked it. Thanks!
