    Prompt6ix! Personal Prompt #1

Prompt6ix is a set of six words or phrases. Simply follow the prompts and develop an art journal page, a collage, an art quilt, a piece of mail art, an artist trading card, even a poem. It is a low intensity challenge... a way to add art to your week. Each prompt includes at least one color and one "technique" or method as well as words or phrases to inspire your work.

Interpret the phrases literally {i.e. if the prompt includes bird, you would draw a bird or cut from a magazine}, figuratively {i.e. if the prompt includes bird, you would think about what a bird represents to you, like freedom or spirituality etc.), ridiculously/doodliciously {the bird would prompt you to draw a wacky bird doodle}, stitchingly {that bird might show up in your embroidery work for the week} etc. You have The Creative License to do with the prompt what you wish.

I love the way you creatively "listed" the prompts, using the watercolor tray! Makes me smile. I haven't made a DECISION yet about using them in my Fun-a-Day book, but love them anyway.

Me, again -- this morning I was thinking about the next page for my Fun-a-Day book project and sorted through some old game cards I keep in a box. A card reading "yellow" came to hand and it is almost exactly a cadmium yellow color -- so I came back to this set of prompts and made my fun today page with cards from various games, including yellow and brilliant reds, wrote in pencil a story of my Dad playing cards in the South Pacific, smudged the pencil with wet tea bag, and made a tabletop for the cards from a fabric that is muted reds and yellow with a diamond pattern (serendipity, that) -- one decision following another -- some red nail polish from a discussion yesterday adding to both the vermillion and strengthening an idea from the little story -- all those decisions for all those sources -- my page for today is done (and fun!) I am your reader with no camera and no working scanner, so you will have to use your very able imagination for the time being...)

Enjoyed doing this one but I did leave out the tea bag...didn't have one. Posted to Facebook group page. Thanks for the ideas.

Hello Tammy. I have been following your daily prompts quite shyly for a while now.I decided to join the Prompt 6ix. So far it has been fun.Thank you for gathering the challenge. It works...Here is the link http://izmircadisi.blogspot.com/2013/01/hergun-sanat-art-everyday-1.html.

Just stumbled onto this and have to say a big Thanks! This is a great site and loaded with inspiration. Would like to join in on this one since once a week is a nice steady pace... Don't have a site so would a description help as with one other reader you have on board. Just love how each person can interpret the same words differently. Looking forward to this...

This is a great creative incentive! Thanks Daisy Yellow for the motivation. I might even go back and do the ones I've missed because of joining up late. Enjoy your day!

not quite certain how to do this.....pardon the ignorance, but do I just get the posts on fb, do I need the correct url embedded into a web page....could someone please point out what I missed regarding this, because I feel like I skipped either a useful paragraph or link. Or fb post - i love a low-key challenge :-)

{Tammy}: Shari, I'm not sure I understand your question. In order to post your interpretation, you'll need to upload a photo of your work to your blog, then link to that URL, or to Flickr, where each photograph has a unique URL. If you would prefer to post your work to the Daisy Yellow Facebook group {https://www.facebook.com/groups/daisyyellow} just request to join and then you can share your work there. Hope that helps!
