11 colors of golden fluid acrylics to get started

If you are thinking of buying fluid acrylics, here's a suggested palette of 11 colors of Golden fluid acrylics for art journaling. If you're into metallics, include the iridescent copper and iridescent stainless steel. This list is sort of a balance between the flexibility of mixing an array of colors, and the immediacy of being able to drip certain colors straight on the page.
If your budget is limited, keep a wish list of the colors you want. Buy a few and build your stash. The good news is that the smallest size of fluid acrylics is sufficient. You'll use them in DRIPS not globs.
1 drop of dioxazine purple + a gob of gesso = lavender {gesso makes colors lighter, more pastelish}. Add matte medium or water to get more transparent colors. For gobs of saturated color, go for tubed acrylics! These colors work for tubed acrylics as well.
Art journaling is about play, so play the way you wish to play!

Actually standing in front of my paints Titan buff and turquoise are close behind these. But with these colours I can mix most other colours in a pinch.
I only have three small 1 oz little bottles of Golden fluid acrylics: Primary Magenta, Ultramarine Violet, and Vat Orange. I have Artist's Loft thicker acrylics in big tubes: brown, red, blue, yellow, green and blue.
How wonderful! I had been wondering this very thing recently - exactly what colors and where to start!
