Print Article "Time is not the enemy with acrylics.
Think of the fast-drying characteristics of the medium
as an invitation to paint and repaint,
until you see something you like."
~Brad Faegre
20x12" art journal spread from altered book project "tekenfilm" plus detail of pink-orange background.
The second day of the first annual NaNoJouMo (National NonStop Journaling Month) at D'Blogala. Playing around with pinks and oranges, I made a simple background in the children's book I'm altering. A layer of gesso, then layers of orange and pink Golden fluid acrylics with a Starbucks card. I like the interesting color of this background. The page got a little wrinkled... plus I doodled with the eraser of a regular pencil to get the textured lines. Ready for collage!

I clicked on the first link and read 'I am calling it 'tekenfilm' because...' Hang on. You are calling it tekenfilm? Do you have Dutch roots? Just wondering as I am Dutch living in the UK... wished this project did not fall in November, I'm already writing a novel, and doing an Art Journal about the main character of that novel, on top of my Project 365 (taking a picture every single day). The to do list would just be too long if I added this...
Eveline, Not Dutch roots, but certainly a love of Dutch culture only strengthened by our travels to Belgium/The Netherlands this summer and I've really been getting inspired as I edit our zillion photographs. I would love to do NaNoWriMo next year, but this year it's two art projects per day! ~ Tammy
