Art Journal: 35mm

9 x 12" loose art journal page on watercolor paper.

One of many finds within a stash of 35mm slides, this is a photograph of my brother and I in front of my dad's car in the 1960's. I printed the photo on watercolor paper to give it a matte feel. Collaged on fluid acrylics with batik paper, handmade FIMO stamps and found stamps. The little blue circles with dots inside were created with the lid of a pen, a technique from inside journal #2 by Flickr artist Jessica Loughrey.

I wanted to do something different. So I followed two prompts from Kick-Start Your Art Journal (Part 2 ): <Photograph> and <Limited Palette>. The colors are calm aqua and pastels and the page is built around just one central photo. A bit of journaling... and it will be finished.

Tomorrow I'll share another page created from the same prompts. Have you tried any of the art journaling prompts?

Love the link to Jessica's journals on flickr, and your page is beautiful and yummy!
