Art Journal: Collection

{collage.gesso.charcoal.neocolors}

A productive morning of collage therapy, resulting in lots of collages to use for experiments...

  1. Made a collage in a wire-bound watercolor pad
  2. Painted a layer of white gesso on the collage with a wet sponge
  3. Painted randomly with Golden fluid acrylics, fully saturated color or thinned with matte medium.... {at this point, I was sure I had ruined it but then gesso to the rescue}
  4. Another layer of gesso.
  5. Edged with charcoal pencil and neocolors {learned that charcoal pencil basically gives everything a greyish look, I much prefer neocolors}
  6. Ready for journaling... or further embellishment...

I came here from the flickr group. I love this collage! And I sure appreciate your sharing how you made it. I am so getting into art journaling and I Love learning how to make new and different backgrounds. Thanks for sharing your technique!
