Art Journal: Faded Blue v1.2

"Technical skill is mastery of complexity while creativity is mastery of simplicity."
~ Erik Christopher Zeeman, mathematician

Faded Blue, one of 6 Collages 6 Ways.

Faded Blue is a collage on 9x12 watercolor paper, with a layer of white gesso, edged with Golden fluid acrylics. Found stamps, a bit more collage, my favorite new fish, and the quote above, stamped with alphabet stamps.

The quote you chose couldn't have been more perfect for this piece... the complexity is almost overwhelming until your eye is able to rest on the simplicity of the individual components. Beautiful work!!

This collage is a treasure. The more closely I look at it the more gems I find! I do like the fish. Fish have been showing up in my collage supplies of late - although i've not used them yet...they indeed have my attention. And now to see it in yours... I am heeding the message! I will use them soon. The quote is very validating - thank you for sharing your work with us.

I love the muted colours. Perfect title, beautiful composition - reminds me of a favourite pair of jeans!

Thank you all for your kind comments... I too love the chaos and blues of this piece. And that fish. I love that fish. I've been quote surfing lately, as you can tell. ~ Tammy
