Art Journal: Happy Life

I'm reposting several oldies-but-goodies from last summer, some of the very earliest posts at Daisy Yellow. Happy Life was originally posted in July 2008... the first full month of Daisy Yellow!

"One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats."
~ Iris Murdoch

9" x 12" watercolor paper, scraps of cardstock, ephemera, white gesso, neocolor II wax crayons, Golden fluid acrylics, gel medium, alpha stamps

On this page, I worked from the outermost edges, adding mostly scrap cardstock and a bit of ephemera in something of a frame, moving toward the center over the course of a few days. The surface is uneven with many layers, some hidden from view. For thoughts and ideas on art journaling, check out Aisling D'Art for her refreshing perspective.
