Art Journal: Minks
Fri, August 28, 2009 at 09:31PM

Last year, when our relatives were visiting from Mexico City, we were waiting at a big clothing store in the mall (not my favorite place, the mall). My daughters started exploring the women's coat department and laughed wickedly as they put on "mink" coats. They had a blast and made a memory.
At the right, the first layer of collage that I made in April on an art journal collage binge. This ultimately became the page above. It's a 9x12" loose art journal page on watercolor paper. On the collage, I layered gesso, golden fluid acrylics, stamped with a wine cork and bubble wrap, neocolors, ephemera and a quote.
- Did anyone notice the white writing on the printed photograph ~ White india ink & Rapidograph.
- You'll find a tutorial about stamping with bubble wrap at Bubbled Brayer Backgrounds, with more ideas at Bubble Wrap Stamps and Dotted Backgrounds.
- I did 6 collages on the same day, and finished them 6 different ways. See the details at 6 collages 6 ways.

thank you for sharing your work. Its very cool and gives me so many great ideas. Your youngest looks so bored and that made me laugh, because most women in furs look bored. Haha! Have a wonderful Sunday!
