Art Journal: White Flower

This is a work in progress. The first shot shows the stamped background on watercolor paper, later flipped around for collage. The process for stamping the background with bubble wrap and acrylics is at Bubbled Brayer Backgrounds.

In the second shot, I've collaged images and ephemera using Mod Podge. The collage includes receipts from our trip to Mexico, hand painted cardstock and cotton fabric stamped with hand carved eraser stamps. The last shot was taken after edging and embellishing with neocolor II wax crayons. Still to go... a quote, some journaling, doodles perhaps.

The idea of creating some of the components that go into a collage is intriguing. How could you use bits of art that you've created as raw materials or parts of another piece of art? What about editing your own photographs instead of using catalog images... or using paper scrap from other projects... see Using Scrap Cardstock: ATCs.
