Bubble Wrap Stamps
Mon, February 2, 2009 at 12:29PM Small bubbles.
Bubbles in circles.
Bubbles in rectangles.
Bubbles in the moleskine.
Bubbles on a cover.

I went a little crazy with tiny bubble wrap. I just cut tiny bubble wrap into shapes and rolled Speedball water-based acrylic ink (the ink used for block printing) on the bubbles with a brayer, then stamped the shapes into the moleskine. I also decorated the outside of a hardback book I've been altering.
It started on a whim ~ seeing bubble wrap on the table and planning to paint with a brayer. Like the old commercial with peanut butter and chocolate. Learn more about the Bubbled Brayer Backgrounds project. I'm hearing good feedback on this project from all over the world, people making valentines day cards with hearts cut from bubble wrap, teachers doing the project with their art class. It's totally fun and so easy that you might find yourself stamping everything in sight!

I have a little question what made you start doing art with bubble wrap?
*mindful mimi, thanks for dropping by!
*stephie, it was just a lovely accident, some bubble wrap from a package was sitting on the table (i work at the breakfast table) and i was doing art with a brayer, and it was an "i wonder if..." moment!

I absolutely LOVE this idea, and can't wait to try it in some of my adventures. I'm part of a "Journey of Journals" right now, and this will work great for that.
Do you think that Acrylic Inks will work as well as the ones you use? That's what I have. May give it a try first before committing to one more product...but can't wait to try!
Thank you so much. I will be back here often! XO
