building a rainbow {5 days of color}: lemon yellow or chartreuse

[PAGE DOWN to ADD TO THE LINKY LOVE]

We're building a rainbow!!!

{the details are here in this post}

Create art in one color each day this week: an art journal page, a sketch, a doodle, a painting, a mixed media work, embroidery, crochet.

Here's where you go to add a link to your art for each color - there are linky lovies on each page.

DECEMBER 8: PALE PINK or SALMON

DECEMBER 9: LEMON YELLOW or CHARTREUSE

DECEMBER 10: PERIWINKLE or LAVENDER

DECEMBER 11: BROWN or GREY

DECEMBER 12:  RAINBOW!!!

lemon yellow!

{Caitlyn is color hostess for today, so go check out the incredible intro to LEMON YELLOW}

 {ok, so i didn't do art in lemony yellow quite yet}

chartreuse!

this is my *digital* artwork for chartreuse click for a post describing what it is!

Per Wikipedia, chartreuse is just in between green and yellow. I think of it as a greeny yellow. Or a yellowy green. Lime green, perhaps. It's not a precise color, but then again pink or blue or purple are imprecise. To mix a chartreuse with watercolors, I start with Hooker's Green and add a bit of Cadmium Yellow Light until it's looking good. If you hesitate to mix colors when you paint, consider having a look at The Color Mixing Bible. It's a full color book showing how many colors work together. The colors are displayed in a grid format that I love. I've learned a great deal from the book. Once you start mixing colors you might find yourself happily addicted!

 Please post your link(s) to your artwork in lemon yellow and your artwork in chartreuse (you can link twice, if they are in separate posts), as we add funky colors to our rainbow. {please link to the exact post, not the blog home page} Remember to make sure your flickr photo is public before linking - otherwise we get an error.

One of my favorite colours, even though not much of it showed up on my page.
