With the idea of painting without lines, other than those dividing the page, I ventured with my little travel watercolors and a brush. I've been practicing with the same #8 pointed round brush for a few weeks, trying to get the feel of it, what I can do with it, how to do circles, squares, triangles, curves, how much water to leave on the brush, how to make the paint transparent or translucent, blending colors, mixing colors, I'm trying to learn everything by leaving just the brush as a constant.
It's definitely easier to draw lines in pencil and just fill them in. But why not enjoy a challenge?
I'm working in an 8x10" Clairefontaine watercolor pad. This is my first experience with a pad glued at all sides; to release the paper you simply slide a sharp knife between the page and the remainder of the pad. The paper stays perfectly flat while working, and you can leave it on the pad until dry if you aren't doing another page that day. It's a joy to work with this paper and the pad is a bonus.
Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is my final work for AEDM, Art Every Day Month, with Leah of Creative Every Day! Leah has worked hard to develop, support and facilitate this challenge, as well as the annual Creative Every Day challenge. Leah has mastered the methodology, with opportunities to share with other artists via their creative postings. It has been a heck of a challenge, but incredibly worthwhile and motivating!

It has been an extreme pleasure to travel on this AEDM journey with you this year. This is a beautiful piece to end this months work! Very celebrational in it's presentation! I hope you learned even half as much as I did about my art and myself during this past month. I will continue to visit your blog in the coming months just to see where your journey is taking you! Good luck to you and blessings to all that you love!
