Creative Experiments | January 2010 Check-In

Photographed at Neiwschwanstein castle about 2 hours from Munich. Photos not allowed except in places like the cafe! I started with the original and played around in Photoshop, applying various "actions" (actions = fancy name for macros). Check out night-fate's actions from deviantART. I love this simple cafe scene.

But the focus of this post is as follows. It's the mid-point of our creative month. This is a good time to re-group with see where you are relative to your personal goal. This is your chance to revise your goal without guilt.

If you would like to participate, join at any time! The process is described at Creative Experiments for January. The idea is that I post a different list of experiments each month, you set a personal goal for how many you'd like to do, post your results in the comments to the original post or this post. At the beginning of next month I will post a new list. You will find some of the experiments easier than others; this is by design.

Please post your results by noon on January 31 in order to be included in a summary.

I'm especially interested in suggestions for "experiments" ~ email those to tammy [dot] daisyyellow [at] gmail [dot] com so that they stay a secret!

So how are you enjoying Photoshop? I would think that to be a big ol' challenge in itself.

Your blog site is so inspiring. Makes me wish I had more room to play in my itty bitty one bedroom apartment. And I love the way you photograph your art, instead of scanning it. I feel like Im in the room there with you. Nicely done.

Hm. Rapidograph. I wonder where mine is. Seems like the last time I tried to use it, it was clogged.

I'll be back to visit another time soon.

*sue, i adore photoshop. and by the way, i don't have an art studio... thank you for the kind words about photographing art, yes more and more art is photographed (it started on a whim, now it's fun). fyi, when i first pulled out the rapidograph after 20 years of non-use, it was clogged and i just used warm soap & water and it only took about 20 min to get it going! ~Tammy

lovely, lovely, lovely!
I find it very fascinating how each photo has a completely different atmosphere and energy about it!

*Hanna, Thanks for hopping over the pond to drop by, and I am quickly becoming addicted to brushes and actions. The challenge I am having is keeping them organized. Some developers require users to credit them for use of brushes/actions and some do not. It's hard to keep track!
* Yasmina, Using a variety of "actions" does create an interesting situation.. making it hard to pick just one!
