Daisy Dare: Fiber Fail

Share something you created from fiber that didn't quite work.

♦ didn't work ♦ didn't fit ♦ stitched wrong side ♦ retro chandelier pattern upside down ♦ zipper inside out ♦ knotted nightmare ♦ spilled coffee on tutu ♦ project took so long it was out of style ♦ dog ate the cross-stitch ♦

I had planned to sew ipod cases for the girls for the holidays. A perfect first true sewing project! Patterns - who needs patterns? I sketched out the plans and proceeded to stitch the case with half of the fabric facing inside out. Ripped out the stitches.

Stitched the case again. Put the ipod into the pocket and froze. The headphones... drat! They are really bulky for such tiny things, and the pocket was too flat. I'd made an ipod case which fits the ipod but not the headphones (which apparently are a component of the listening experience).

Your turn!

Actually, I like it. It fascinates me and I think there are little areas that will find their way into some project(s) eventually.

I have to practice sewing so bad! It's on my list, I just never know what to make. All my projects fail haha! I can't figure out how to make the stitch straight. I've read/been told all the advice out there and I just can't do it.
Are you going to give the little bags another go? That fabric is super cute!

Inspired by Roben Marie Smith and Ruth Rae, I pulled out my machine to sew paper Valentines yesterday. However, when I free motion stitched the hearts, it just didn't seem to be sewing properly. Duhhhh!!! I had the dial turned to the wrong stitch number instead of having dialed up a straight stitch!!!! I'm beginning to embrace the perfection of imperfection!!!! Hugs, Terri xooxoxo
