Design-a-Doodle #2

Time for another episode of Design-A-Doodle.

In Part #1, I made a pattern from a photo of tables at a cafe. If you want to play along, grab a camera and go on a treasure hunt. Take a photo of something with interesting lines. A bowl of grapes, a ceramic owl, an iron gate. You'll need a pencil, paper and your photo. You can work in front of your computer, or print it in B&W. We want to come up with something simple, something that can be drawn with a pen or marker, in B&W, that looks nice repeated.

A shot of one of the wooden timbers that holds up our pergola.

In photoshop, I cropped, sharpened, and enhanced with indigoes...

I've already started using these designs in my chaotic doodles! Instant gratification.
