Drawing Designs

drawing illustrations, 5x8" unlined moleskine, pitt pen

A twist on the idea of drawing practice - I've been sketching trademarks from a cool book of American Trademarks (1920s-60s). This is a treasury of tiny designs, perfect for practice. Some are so intricate that I can't figure out how to draw them! It's practice for symmetry, angles, balance, detail, etc. I used a PITT pen XS -- probably an S would have been better for the task, to do thicker edges, fill-in, etc.

More fodder for drawing practice at It's About Drawing, Not The Drawing and Retro|Vintage Drawing Practice.
