Elemental Grid
Fri, October 10, 2008 at 05:00AM "Rushing into action, you fail. Trying to grasp things, you lose them.
Forcing a project into completion, you ruin what was almost ripe."
~ Lao-tse

Alterations in progress. I painted the pages in this hardback with white gesso to strengthen the paper and block the text. To give the thick border a rough, aged look, I painted a bit of Golden fiber paste under vivid Golden fluid acrylics. Since the fiber paste makes the base rough, it's not a good surface for collaging with paper. I glued images with Mod Podge. The images are of patterns, fabric, textures, man-made and natural elements. After making turquoise gridded lines with a gift card, I edged the images with neocolor II crayons.
Art journaling is imprecise. It is rough. There are no rules. You do not need to worry about aligning things perfectly or even measuring! It is what it is. It is yours!
