Flip Thru: Altered Hardback #two
Wed, September 1, 2010 at 05:55AM

I created a short flip-through video to show you the pages in this altered hardback novel. If you can't see the embedded video, go directly to the video on Vimeo. In late 2008 when I started this book, I didn't have any clue how much fun I would have and how much I would love the book as it evolved as I tried new art materials, new ideas. You never really know what art project will be a turning point in your world! This 5x8" hardback book measures 8x10" when the pages are open. I found it in a discount book store for $1 and it was all text, with a solid spine and decently thick pages. Certainly workable. Since the pages were narrow, I worked each pair of pages together.
P.S. It's my first flip-through video!
Here are some of the pages with a little background info: Glaze Pens + Faded Green, Live in the Now, Elemental Grid and Dream Collage.
Don't forget to get started on the September Creative Experiments!

Thanks for sharing your flip-through! You altered book is so luscious and yummy, I could never chose a favorite because all of them are so rich and colorful! Congrats on finishing a book! It looks like a moleskine on the cover, but I guess its just because its black... :-)
Awesome, awesome, awesome!!!! LOVED the video, Tammy. Your book is gorgeous and chock full of inspiration. And the music has me dancing in my jammies!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo
Hanna, I added some words to my post to make it a little clearer (yes it looks like a moleskine). It is actually a hardback I found at a discount store for $1 back in 2008 and have been altering it off an on ever since then! I'm finally "calling" it, meaning it's done... it's done! Otherwise this could go on forever:).
Terri, I am so happy that you liked the music. It seriously takes me longer to find the music than to create the original video! There's a lot of copyright-free music on the web allowed for free use, but a lot of it is not so good!

Oh I LOVE it!! :) definitely a kick in my pants to get my art journal STARTED. It's time!
This is awesome! Nice job. I love the music too :)
Very nice. I love that not all the pages have images or journaling on them. In my mind, that's what a real artist's journal should be... not all "finished" pages.
Hugs,
Sophie
Thanks for doing this video....your journal is colorful, fun and inspiring!!!
Great video, awesome book. Thank you for sharing.

GORGEOUS!!!
oh, my... I want to steal this journal...!
absolutely amazing. I love every single page.
thanks for sharing.
love the colors and how the two pages work off each other. And it doesn't even look like it's "bulging" the way altered painted books usually do! The video: great fun, love the music {:-Deb
