Flip Thru: Tekenfilm Altered Book

"If you stuff yourself full of poems, essays, plays, stories, novels, films, comic strips, magazines, music, you automatically explode every morning like Old Faithful. I have never had a dry spell in my life, mainly because I feed myself well, to the point of bursting. I wake early and hear my morning voices leaping around in my head like jumping beans. I get out of bed to trap them before they escape."
— Ray Bradbury

Here's a flip through video of the entire Tekenfilm altered book as it is today. If you can't see the embedded video, go directly to the video on Vimeo. Do you work in your books/journals in order, page by page, finishing a complete page before moving on? I haven't been able to do that - I seem to work through at random, making backgrounds first and then coming back around at another time to add collage, and even later (almost a year later, for some of these pages) to add words or quotes. Still a lot of pages without words or quotes or some finishing touch. But this is how it will likely stay...  I've kind of gotten attached to the pages as they are! You can find all of the posts about this altered book - a big art journaling project - at tekenfilm.

I especially like the pages with the collaged squares!! Beautiful! When working in my own journals though, I like to stay in some order - a lot of times I'll start the first few pages, then finish them when I feel led, continuing on to the next couple of pages and then going back to the first few, starting new ones, all at random! Right now though, I've just started my first art journal - in a composition notebook! I love the size, especially for my first one. Also I have you listed on my blog list (I started an art journaling blog yesterday) because you've been such an inspiration for me! Thanks so much!

AMAZING book!!! I loved that music too!!! I only wish you could've s.l.o.w.e.d. it down, and gotten up real close on some of those pages! But...alas, it's your private journal, maybe I'm just nosey!!

Knowing myself like I do; I'd probably be a one-page-at-a-time person....but then again, I'd hate to be waiting for the paint to dry, so I'd do that stuff ahead of time on a few pages.
