Impromptu

9x12" art journal page, background in gesso + fluid acrylics, rapidograph + white Doc Martin ink + white gellyroll pen
The background is pretty simple, painted with black gesso and golden fluid acrylics using a brayer. Journaled about the impromptu stories I tell the kids at night before bed. Fewer now than when they were younger, as they want to read, read, read!
The little one (8 yrs) is reading Harry Potter VII so we have massive Harry Potter talk, invisibility cloaks, et al. The older one (11) just started The Summer of Moonlight Secrets, waiting for feedback.
Just finished Creative Illustration Workshop (by Katherine Dunn). Adored her mixed media artwork laced throughout.; quirky, calming, joyful. Dunn warmly shares her love of creating art with examples, quotes, ideas. This really made me look at my art differently, and new perspective means fresh ideas swirling around my mind!!!
