Like Art Journaling on Blue Jeans

"You can look at a picture for a week and never think of it again.
You can also look at a picture for a second and think of it all your life."
~ Joan Miró

work-in-process shot

11x14" stretched canvas

fluid acrylics, gesso, collage, heavy body acrylics, handmade hardware stamps, found stamps, bits of my abstract watercolors

painted with a brush and with the edge of a plastic gift card

This is my first EVER canvas painting! I ordered ten Blick Studio Canvas - this is cotton canvas, pre-primed for acrylic painting. The canvas wraps around a 3/4" backing frame so you can paint the edges too. I was really thrilled with the texture when I pulled them out of the box! These are not expensive, 8x10" canvas are about $17 for 10. Ten! I figured if I didn't like what I did, there's always gesso!

Wow--I'm in love with this canvas! It's a great reminder, too, to incorporate some of my found objects (aka "junk") into the process of painting. I love all the little circles you've got in this piece. I don't know what happens between my creative brainstorming (when I'm chasing the toddler to and fro) and the table where I sit and create. Somehow I forget all these ideas and stare blankly at my canvas/book/fabric and wonder why everything looks so blah.

No gesso for this one, Tammy! It's a "keeper"!!! Hugs, Terri xoxo

I love works like these! It makes me feel like I can see a slice of your thought process and the way you find beauty in small things.

Wonderful vibrant colours and images - love it. I can see you smiling with the buzz of creativity as you made it. I like painting & collaging on canvas - the canvas takes a lot of tough love (aka abuse, lol).

Your words make me smile! I am happy that you love vibrant color as much as I do. I might, just might, hang this on the wall!
