Lists: Journal Triggers
Mon, August 4, 2008 at 12:01PM Staring at a blank journal page. What to write. Where to start. I like to do backgrounds first because without being concerned about words, but still, at some point, you might want to add words. Try making a list.
Other people's lists are intriguing...
- Listography is a fascinating array of "other people's lists" with both typical and innovative lists
- Listology is another listy site; a repository of movie, book, music, and television lists
- 43 Things is a place to share goals and another way to get new ideas flowing. Reading a goal like "knit all the yarn I've bought" might trigger thoughts on the 3 boxes of cardstock remaining from your scrapbooking days that you could slice into bands and weave into a collage
- Make a list of books you've read or would like to read
- Make a 101 Things To Do in 1001 Days list; see Tilly's brilliant, thoughtful list
- Get ideas at The List Universe, a site of top 10 lists
- Timothy McSweeney's eccentric, addictive lists
- Letterman's Top Ten List archives
What abut making an entire art journal focused around lists. Concrete GTD type lists, stream of concious lists, lists of books read or to be read, art project ideas, inventions.
