Mandalas for Kids II

My older daughter is on a roll with mandala ideas, as we learned in Mandalas for Kids. More ideas for drawing mandalas and doing mandala art with children:

  • Focus on one shape, such as a triangle, and use it in different ways
  • Use a variety of symbols, doodles, abstract shapes, even letters
  • Use different colors for different shapes as you work outward
  • Use different colors for each "level" as you work outward
  • Draw a huge circle with a plate and work from the outside in
  • Draw the mandala on a paper plate, to make use of the pre-made circle!
  • For toddlers, try using alphabet stamps, fingerprints, doodles or found stamps
