Morning Mandalas
Tue, July 6, 2010 at 06:00AM "If our condition were truly happy,
we would not seek diversion from it
in order to make ourselves happy."
~Blaise Pascal

Enjoying an hour a few mornings each week to draw in the fresh not-yet-sweltering air while the kids learn to play tennis. Aside from the lawn mowers + fresh cut grass, which I could do without, I'm a happy camper. I draw, happy in my own little world, life and tennis balls swirling around me.

Your morning mandalas are quite refreshing. How long does it normally take for you to draw them?
For some reason, this post evoked some seriously blissful memories of summers past. Thank you for that- it's so easy to get caught up in the murky, constantly-raining-and-100%-humid weather we've been having and summers are always sort of a period of a funk. It was nice to momentarily remember what summer really *is*- sunshine, being outside, freedom, morning...
Darnita, It really depends on the complexity and level of detail in the mandala. Those with little detail and loose lines might take 15 minutes. But most take several hours, spread over a few days. Thanks for visiting!
Chel, It's so lovely to hear that these words evoked happy memories. We've been in a quagmire of thunderstorms, rain, clouds, humidity... We have to remember the CONCEPT of summer, because it truly is a wonder.
