Origami Mandala Rev 2.1

5.5x8.5" exacompta drawing journal, watercolors

Watercolored the inked Origami Mandala (2 dimensional, not the folded kind).

Tried some gradual color mixing, starting with a peach and adding magenta in gradual amounts, painting around the second layer out from the center with a slight color change toward pink each time.

[this is my watercolor painting set-up at our table... 2 travel containers of W&N watercolor half pans, 2 water-filled salsa jars, tea, journal, extra palettes for mixing, paper towells for drips. That's how the two jars look after painting the mandala, with no refilling.]

i want to try aimee's colorful inked backgrounds for art journaling + doodling

enjoying the photography and perspective at blogaloorigirl

love, rose is the inventively eloquent blog of an american girl raising kids in Turkey

at giggleface studios, hocuspocusville, an adorably fun quilt in progress
