This video is a mix of art journaling and ramblings that I forgot to post! All of those index cards are getting to me, perhaps!!! In the video, you'll see me working on a page spread in the exacompta journal and explaining my 2 cents on the art of art journaling. I think my words might be a little rough maybe because I recorded my ramblings late at night! Keep in mind that I tend to exaggerate...
You can see a flip-thru of this journal filmed before I added a bunch of new art journal pages. As you can see, this journal can handle LOTS of acrylic paint without warping! I'm impressed! This was photographed with my Nikon D90 DSLR on a tripod, edited in iMovie and uploaded to Vimeo. You'll find a bunch of my videos at Vimeo for you to explore.

This is the first video of yours I have watched and I love it. Thanks for taking the time to share. I agree with your points. It's so much more fun when I can let go and just work without rules (that I mostly impose on myself). At this point in my life my art is mostly just for me and that's why I love the art journal format.

I enjoyed your video, Tammy. I especially enjoy watching the evolution of others' art journal pages, and the "risks" people are willing to take to add an additional layer of paint, an extra bunch of scribbles, one more collage element. It's always fun to see where I would "call time," and how much I would miss out on by not taking that additional risk. I enjoyed your "rambling" thoughts, as well!

Andria, Thank you for putting into words something that I had known but not described eloquently. Since art journaling is for ourselves (although we share with others) and it's about process, there is really no risk to continuing as long as you are "into" what you are doing. My pages often have layer upon layer, because I'm just having fun. You don't have to see all of the layers but you know they are there!
