Peek Inside My Art Journal Basket!

This is my main basket of art journaling supplies! One of 20 baskets and 3 plastic boxes of art materials. This doesn't count fabric or the scrapbook supplies that reside upstairs. Or the kids' boxed art materials.

There are baskets for pitt pens + paint markers, brayers + block printing inks, heavy body acrylics, stamps + ink pads, watercolors, small ephemera, pads of paper,  books I'm altering, unfinished art journal pages, large paper ephemera, adhesives, embroidery stuff, ad infinitim.

What's in your art journaling basket?

I just started art journaling...but my basket includes white gesso, gel medium, brushes, my water jar(when empty), stamps, stazon black ink, watercolors, paint pens, sharpies, and some misc bits and pieces of paper and ephemera.

I like the basket you are using. I am using a large plastic IRIS container right now and I think I would like this better.

Erin, Your basket is full of creative potential! Just reading all of the words makes me want to go paint.

Elaine, I do like the IRIS containers a lot. I use them for projects with smaller components that I want to keep together - for example, an embroidery project with the hoop, fabric, needles, a bunch of embroidery floss. Another IRIS box for india inks!

... If I tell you, I'll have to kill you!! Oops, sorry - still in AJ-psycho mode!
I have a drawer that looks similar to that and I am so relieved to read your list of exceptions. I shall use it printed out, as evidence of "normality" when my family take issue with all my 'supplies/essentials'!

PS - what's the wax for?

02.2.2011 | Unregistered CommenterRosie

Rosie, Daisy Yellow hereby grants you art material certification to the highest degree necessary to obtain the look and feel of the creative potential of the artwork in question. Does that suffice?

The wax is used as a resist - here's an example... http://daisyyellow.squarespace.com/vividlife/wax-watercolor-wow.html

I am SO excited that you'll be teaching "21 Secrets"!!! I have my money and I can hardly wait!

My art supplies are all over, journals in cubbies, oil-based and water-soluble pastels, acrylic paints, watercolors and gouache in 2 3-drawer units, pads on a metal rack system that used to hold towels in a bathroom. I have 5 pencil boxes full of pens and markers that sit on a hutch on my desk. Not well-organized, but out of sight.

Trece, Yay for taking 21 Secrets! Art supplies do make lovely decor, so inviting and colorful, don't you think?
