Phlox Love

Phlox paniculata, known as garden phlox, summer phlox, perennial phlox, or autumn phlox, has been the biggest surprise in the garden this summer, with blooms starting the second week of June and expected to continue into September. The white phlox 'David' and the pink-purple phlox "Robert Poore" would be good in a cottage garden or most other designs. They can be planted in mass or make a rich background behind smaller plants such as purple coneflowers.

"People from a planet without flowers would think we must be mad with joy the whole time to have such things about us."

~Iris Murdoch

"To hold the world in a grain of sand and heaven in a wildflower. Hold infinity in the palms of your hand and eternity in an hour."

~ William Blake
