Prompt: Booked

Consider the concept of climbing into a book. Swirling through my head is an early loose art journal collage I did in 2007 using a theme of one of my fav books. It's based on "The Hotel New Hampshire" by John Irving. I've always loved this line... "Keep passing the open windows."  The collage has a circus atmosphere, just like the book.

What book would you climb into? What book (or a passage from a book) could inspire an art journal page or ATC?  Focus your mind on the imagery from the book, the characters, the setting, a quote, a conversation. Let this guide the feel of the page, the mood, the color palette, how lush or sparse, your background, your journaling. A quote from the book or the author could be a focal point or muse... want to do this together and share what we come up with?

Post a link to the art you developed based on this prompt, and I promise to visit! Next is Prompt: Palette. Check out all creativity prompts, including the Kick-Start Your Art Journal series!

Okay, I posted something kinda like your prompt. Not quite as good. My journal page is really just an illustration. Not as interesting as your idea, but perhaps a start?

awesome idea! and I love your page, it's very beautiful.
I do this type of thing a lot with poetry and with famous quotes and such. I think it's a lot of fun and very inspiring to take words others have written and create your own interpretation and try to illustrate what you think was going on in that book, poem , quote etc.
I haven't done something like this in while, I think I'll try a new one soon:)
