Retro | Vintage Drawing Practice #2
Wed, December 16, 2009 at 08:28PM Did you attempt to draw any of the ideas from Retro | Vintage Drawing Practice? Continuing the series, here's more inspiration for those wishing to draw. You don't have to be PERFECT, but do give it a TRY.
draw the lines and curves of a bicyclette
sketch this bridge card without turning the page
design an embellished umbrella
sketch the curves and angles of a chandelier
draw the deceptively simple lines of the predecessor to your cell phone, give it a 3D feel
draw these grand windows, practice freehand parallel lines
draw a vintage earring, or one from your collection, embellish
the curves and overlapping forms in leaves
What will you draw today?

Hey this is a fun idea...sketching things like this kind of got me going. I have not actually gone to the real sketching yet...but I am interested. I hope I will later this week. I like the Chandelier best I think. I need to used the sketching to recenter after my busy first week on the new job.
I don't know how I missed your first post on vintage drawing, but this is a great idea! I definitely want to take this on this week! Thanks for the inspiration!
Time is sooooo limited lately, but this idea has really intrigued me. I think I might make time for some art today - even if it's just a quick sketch. Thanks for the inspiration, Tammy! Hugs, Terri xoxo
*Diane, I'm enchanted with chandeliers as well, let me know if it proves to be a good subject!
*Verna, I look forward to hearing whether the lines in these photographs were fun to sketch.
*Terri, A quick sketch is of course better than no sketch.
