Reverse Rainbow
Sat, May 1, 2010 at 09:00PM "Clutter and mess show us that life is being lived...Tidiness makes me think of held breath, of suspended animation... Perfectionism is a mean, frozen form of idealism, while messes are the artist's true friend. What people somehow forgot to mention when we were children was that we need to make messes in order to find out who we are and why we are here."

This is my rainbow. Clearly, I don't reach for dark blue, dark green or deep red as often as vivid magenta and orange.
I bet each artist has their very own rainbow!
Check out the Color Series, color-themed posts exploring how to add new colors like purple, pink, blue and more into your art and highlighting the work of various artists such as Druga Szesnascie and Amy Cowen (of The Creative Mom Podcast).
What colors do you reach for most often?

Tammy, I love this mosaic!! Love it!! I am inspired by rainbow colors TOGETHER! Individually I go for the greens and reds, most often. I am drawn to the more primary colors! Going to be doing something soon to get me more into the pinks and purples! I find those colors harder to work with......wonder why?
Woweee, Tammy! The vivid color in this scrumptious mosaic made my heart beat just a little faster today! Fabulous!!! My works embody your favorite colors. I favor bright, highly saturated colors - nothing "muddied" with grays. You won't see navy blue, forest green or Payne's gray in my work at all! Hugs, Terri xoxo
Tammy - What a great way to present your wide range of artwork, in your own rainbow of colorsl It was wonderful going through these images on Flickr. Personally I love all colors and often reach for the magenta-blue-purple range first as that is what resonates with me. But I always try not to neglect the other half of the color wheel as complementary colors add spice and make things pop.
