Sew-a-Go-Go (Part 3)

"In my own worst seasons I've come back from the colorless world of despair by forcing myself to look hard, for a long time, at a single glorious thing: a flame of red geranium outside my bedroom window. And then another: my daughter in a yellow dress. And another: the perfect outline of a full, dark sphere behind the crescent moon. Until I learned to be in love with my life again. Like a stroke victim retraining new parts of the brain to grasp lost skills, I have taught myself joy, over and over again."
~Barbara Kingsolver

I cannot get the white balance right for this shot, sorry!

9x12" watercolor paper, fabric, paper, photograph, thread

That's our Rhodesian Ridgeback, Kimba, 100 lbs of ON/OFF energy; wired/insane or cuddly/couch potato.

Sewing paper. It's addictive. I knew it would be cool to add stitching to my journal pages... but this is ridiculous. We started with thread and fabric - the kids and I did a bunch of stitches on fabric, random stuff, playing around, getting to know the machine. Then I started sewing the little playful pieces to paper, and the pages grew, like... I wonder if I can stitch through a paint chip? I started throwing stuff in, an acrylic leaf print the kids and I did, an ATC, a color print of an art journal page, cardstock, a photograph, and on and on.

OH! This looks like so much fun! I've done some paper sewing, too but not a collage! I can't wait to try it. I've been sewing on a little, basic Janome for 5 years now and it's great!

That looks like a really cool technique.
I really like the fact that you used yellow! It makes everything pop nicely.
