Sharing Doodles

"Drawing is putting a line round an idea."
~Henri Matisse

5x8" drawing moleskine, pitt pen, shared work-in-process

my older daughter (11) and I started a new doodle explosion at bed-time the other night

I fell asleep while taking turns drawing, so we'll continue another day

here's a link to the first doodle collaboration

Oh how lovely...I used to do this with friends on top of those paper tablecoverings at restaurants.. it's so fun to doodle together!

I used to do this with my kids while waiting. I always had a sketchbook with me and they always wanted to draw in it. The collaborative doodle was our compromise - we both got to draw in it. I haven't done it in a long time but I bet my youngest (11) daughter would still enjoy that. Thanks for sharing this. You two do beautiful work together.

Linda, Effy + Kirstin, Thank you for your kind words, I'll pass them along to my daughter! I like doodling together especially at bed-time because it's so cozy!!! Tammy

Hi Tammy,
You shared doodle explosion looks great. Your daughter has definately your arty genes. I think it's such a lovely idea to work on projects together. Especially at night. My youngest often draws while I'm reading a story at bedtime. I think I may suggest that we try something like your shared doodle, that way we can take turns reading too. Thank you for sharing this lovely photo with us. Look forward to seeing the completed explosion.
warmest best wishes.
