Sorceress Mandala

"If you are careful,' Garp wrote, 'if you use good ingredients, and you don't take any shortcuts, then you can usually cook something very good. Sometimes it is the only worthwhile product you can salvage from a day; what you make to eat. With writing, I find, you can have all the right ingredients, give plenty of time and care, and still get nothing. Also true of love. Cooking, therefore, can keep a person who tries hard sane."
~John Irving

5x8" moleskine, pitt pen, watercolor
drawn in June on the watercolored background while the kids were swimming; it was a wicked 100 degrees

on this moleskine paper, you can watercolor first, then draw on top
or draw first - with permanent marker - and watercolor on top

I'm just finishing Journal Spilling: Mixed-Media Techniques for Free Expression by Diana Trout. This book is soooooo good that I have added it to the curated list {got this wording from pinterest} of books at Art Journaling 101.

Last weekend, I baked two yummy blueberry pies with the recipe from The Pioneer Woman.

I've been painting pastel art journal pages for 30 Days of Get Your Art On w/Traci Bunkers.
