Sunshine Corner

Today, moleskine sketching in a new style in pitt pen and watercolor.

"The point of philosophy is to start with something so simple as not to seem worth stating, and to end with something so paradoxical that no one will believe it."
— Bertrand Russell

5x16" mixed media mandala, watercolor moleskine, pitt pen, watercolor

The next page in the moleskine was the center of a section of papers, so the same sheet went straight across. I know you lovely book binders will know the technical name for this page! Wanting to take advantage of that, I drew a sun with the thinner, lighter lines I discovered yesterday when I drew Create Violet Dreams. Then a fence of doodle patterns in the background.

Feeling very good about Art Every Day Month (AEDM) + National Nonstop Journaling Month (NaNoJouMo) thus far. I knew for most of the year that I would go for it again, and it's just a blast. The super cool part is knowing that there are folks all over the world participating and you can see what THEY work on each day.

See? I'm not the only crazy creative chick out there!  Pop over to Aimee's List It Tuesday (where I learned a new word, sobriquet). Sue is progressing on a doodle. Rachel is making inchies. Sarah has actually drawn in her Sketchbook Project. Bonnie Rose is painting square truths (isn't that link so curious that it is asking to be clicked?) and Hanna is creating art collages. Dawn is drawing + creating mandalas!

I'm taking a poll. What's your best excuse for ordering take-out or delivery instead of cooking dinner?

Best possible reason to order dinner out came from my wonderful Mom. She was trying to make the most of Thanksgiving turkey leftovers and wanted to try something new (cue omen music): Curried Turkey. She is the only person I know who has spices from HER father (a world traveler), therefore antiques, and insists on using them. Well, as you may have guessed, the 30-year-old curry produced a strange green sauce with the turkey. Lesson learned: when Mom breaks out the "antique" spices, be prepared to order in!

I think I really like the journaling across to pages, continuing the artwork in the center. Never thought of that! I had not heard of National Nonstop journaling month. Could you tell me where to find out more....maybe I can participate next year!

Nadine - So my dad isn't the only one with spices from the middle ages! Fortunately he only uses the garlic so it gets replenished and the other stuff gathers dust!

Cynthia - I added links to AEDM and NANOJOUMO to the post so that you can click over!
