What's the worst that could happen?
Tue, November 15, 2011 at 12:00PM "All lies and jest,
still a man hears what he wants to hear
and disregards the rest."
~ Simon & Garfunkel, The Boxer

What are you scared of?
The pen could leak on your white dress.
You could crochet and re-crochet the same inch of yarn 5 times.
You could make an ipod case that doesn't fit.
The paint that drips on the floor could stain.
The Sharpie could bleed through the paper onto your desk.
The needle could break.*
But I'm guessing that's not what you fear.
* ANALYSIS: In 14 months of sewing paper + fabric, I've only broken 2 needles. The first broke on a pin. This breakage/bendage was the result of attempting to bind a journal that had about 8-10 layers of heavy paper and fabric. I've done it before without breaking a needle so I'd try it again. Live on the wild side!

I had a fiber art teacher in school who told us to "work it till you ruin it, then cut it up and weave it". As you can see I still remember her advice and repeat it to myself often.
Good motivation for me to finish a few projects. I need to remember to enjoy the process so that if I end up with a finished project that I don't like, at least I've gotten something out of it. After all "the time you enjoy wasting is not wasted".
Love this!
