    Daily Paper Prompt {Intro}

    Welcome to the Daily Paper Prompt, a series of 61 techniques-based creative prompts. Work at your own pace. Each prompt can be interpreted on paper of any size.

    ➸➸ If you participated in the index-card-a-day challenge, your daily creative habit has been cemented and is part of your life. Part of most days. You are proactively making the choice to take some time each day to do art. You've pvoven to yourself that you CAN have creative fun with a tiny canvas. The decision to keep going. Or at least the decision to NOT stop! You are already in the flow. Trust me. It is easier to KEEP GOING than to stop and then start again a month or a year from now. The creative inertia is in your favor!!!

    ➸➸ If you did not participate in index-card-a-day, this is a PERFECT way to jump-start your creativity. To decide that you DO want an on-going creative space in your life. It doesn't have to be a BIG decision in capital letters. It's just a tip of the hat, a nod, a wink. A bit of time every day for yourself. It is easiest to start small.

    "Go ahead into life, full-blooded, courageous and leap for the adventure. But you must do it soon—before the summer of your youth has cooled off into caution. You are magnificently charming—and you come like a torrent. But you will be spent on the futility of little things. You are not a watercolor. You are carved out of life—and there can be no petty hesitancies about you.”
    Ruth Reichl

    You can work the DPPs in a small format like a 3x5" or 4x6" index card, work in a journal, work on full sheets of watercolor paper. No rules, remember? OK well there are a few rules. I ask that you work the DPPs in order. You can SKIP a DPP if you don't have the materials or the interest in a particular prompt. Just go to the next one.  You can go BACK and do one you skipped but please don't JUMP forward.

    The intention of the Daily Paper Prompt is to help you add creativity to your day with the nudge provided by a simple prompt. The prompts will work for any size of paper - index card, index card divider, post card, 5x8" moleskine, full page, watercolor paper, probably even a cereal box. Take the prompt and do whatever you wish. Interpret LITERALLY, figuratively, mysteriously, logically, chaotically, neatly.

    What materials will you need? I've tried to use a core set of art materials. Helpful materials include fluid or heavy body acrylics, Sakura gelly roll pens, colored pencils, watercolor paper, index cards, watercolors, a brush, etc.

    This is such a great idea! I love how accessible you make art. I always feel like it's this big looming "thing" that must be done in my studio when I have hours of time. You make it look so easy to just whip things up every day. Thanks for this challenge and for the FB group--what fun to feel connected to other creative people! :)

    This sounds exciting. I am new to the ICAD and allthough I could not keep up daily I managed to do a couple of cards a day when I could. I intend to keep doing them until I have done the 60. I certainly got my creative side woken up and I am looking forward to doing DPP as well. This arty prompts of yours have been a big gift to me since I lost my mother recently and she would be happy to know I am going back to art that we both loved. Thank you for giving me something back.
